I live and work on the beautiful lands of the Gumbaynggirr people. These lands were stolen. Sovereignty was never ceded.
I do my best to offer love and respect to all their Elders; past, present, and future.
I extend this respect and reverence to all Indigenous Elders across all nations throughout the world.
Let’s look after them and the old stories they hold from the land. We all need them more than ever.
Sorrel – Culinary Herb
$160.00
A discovery of edible delights to share with everyone who visits your kitchen. Sorrel, also known as French Sorrel, is a sharply lemony flavoured perennial herb to brighten salads or soups.
This culinary herb collection was created to inspire you to just start wherever you are, with whatever you’ve got and begin to connect with nature a little more via that eating thing we do several times a day. Perhaps that’s by learning about a new herb, using more fresh produce, conscious seasonal shopping, growing a few things of your own, or experimenting more with what you already have.
You could make a difference in the world by inspiring the people around you too.
An attentiveness to food plants naturally encourages you to learn about them. You begin to pay attention to where your food comes from. Ultimately, this leads to a deepening understanding of our entwining in nature.
This paying attention and connection with nature is at the heart of how I create my artworks. Each piece is done as a meditation in itself. Where some people chant mantras to meditate or focus on a mandala or try to empty their mind, I paint. The process of painting is the meditation. And the resulting artwork exudes this attentive, meditative quality that created it. So many people comment on this felt quality that emanates from my artworks.
From the exhibition, “Meditations on a Cook’s Garden” – influenced by botanical art, meditation, chinese calligraphic brush painting and the artist’s kitchen garden.
